摘要: Abstract The potential of using electrodialysis as a technology for separations in highly concentrated solutions is limited by back diffusion ions and solvent flux from the diluate to concentrate. Solvent dilutes concentrate stream while simultaneously forms limitation reach high ion concentrations. In this study sodium chloride two different combinations ion-exchange membranes, namely PC-SK/PC-SA with standard anion exchange membranes PC-SK/PC-MVA monovalent selective are studied feed very It was found that fluxes both hardly influenced type anion-selective membrane solely concentration dependant. To assure an efficient separation gradients must be small minimize diffusion. Furthermore, quantitative influence operating parameters on caused osmosis electro-osmosis investigated. Electro-osmosis independent gradient proportional current density. Osmosis only depends gradient. When below 1 mol L −1 at least eight times smaller than electro-osmosis. Membranes steric hindrance therefore necessary electro-osmotic flux.
