摘要: Aneurysm rupture occurs when local wall stresses exceed the tensile strength of vascular tissues. Knowledge stresses, and insight into factors that change will lead to a better understanding how aneurysms grow rupture. In this study, stress distributions in walls small were calculated using finite element analysis (FEA), numerical technique able predict with greater accuracy than Law Laplace. Stresses for an initial aneurysm compared produced by increasing diameter, decreasing thickness, changing material properties wall. FEA calculations indicate are generally greatest on inner surface aneurysm, decrease nonlinearly as outer is approached. Maximum occur along region circumferential tend be significantly longitudinal stresses. Doubling diameter twofold increase maximum stress. Decreasing thickness half also doubling Changing no appreciable However, weaker materials fail at lower thus halving would equivalent We conclude Laplace inaccurate predicting complicated exist walls, more sophisticated tools, such FEA, needed understand complex phenomenon. proportional changes or tissue have roughly effects growth
