How can grafted breast cancer models be optimized

摘要: Breast cancer is the most frequent spontaneous malignancy diagnosed in women and characterized by a broad histological diversity. Progression of disease has metastasizing trend can be resistant to hormonal chemotherapy. Animal models have provided some understanding these features allowed new treatments proposed. However, need revised because they limitations predicting clinical efficacy therapies. In this review, we discuss biological criteria taken into account for realistic animal model breast graft (tumor implantation site, immune status, diversity, modern imaging). We emphasize more stringent monitoring criteria, suggest adopting human RECIST (Response Evaluation Criteria Solid Tumors) evaluate models.
