摘要: Information theory (IT) tools, widely used in scientific fields such as engineering, physics, genetics, neuroscience, and many others, are also emerging useful transversal tools computer graphics. In this book, we present the basic concepts of IT how they have been applied to graphics areas radiosity, adaptive ray-tracing, shape descriptors, viewpoint selection saliency, visualization, geometry simplification. Some approaches presented, techniques, now state art visualization. Almost all techniques presented book previously published peer-reviewed conference proceedings or international journals. Here, stressed their common aspects them an unified way, so reader can clearly see which problems help solve, specific use, apply them. A level knowledge is required but presented. The intended audiences both students practitioners above related addition, will learn about these applications. Table Contents: Theory Basics / Scene Complexity Refinement Criteria for Radiosity Shape Descriptors Ray-Tracing Viewpoint Selection Mesh Saliency View Scientific Visualization Viewpoint-based Geometry Simplification
