摘要: Eye contact is crucial in achieving social communication. Deviant patterns of eye behavior are found individuals with autism, who suffer from severe and communicative deficits. This study used a visual oddball paradigm to investigate whether children high functioning autism have difficulty detecting mutual gaze under experimental conditions. The results revealed that were no better at direct than averted gaze, which unlike normal children. suggests whereas typically developing the ability detect do not. might result altered eye-contact behavior, hampers subsequent development skills.
