摘要: Passive acoustic telemetry was used to monitor the movements of cownose rays (Rhinoptera bonasus) within Caloosahatchee River estuary in Southwest Florida. Twelve were tracked river between January 2004 and May 2005 for periods up 234 days. Linear home range calculated all individuals ranged 0 18.4 km (daily) 1 22.3 (overall). Ray position compared changing water quality parameters throughout study. Although size did not increase with increasing salinity, occur farther upriver decreasing flow rates salinity. There no differences detected day night distribution patterns. Movement presence patterns demonstrated significant use estuarine over months, indicating that southwest Florida may undertake long seasonal migrations as established other parts their range.
