摘要: The Western Hemisphere or the New World, also known as Americas (North, Central and South America, associated islands included seas) have historically been divided into two Realms, Nearctic Neotropical based on terrestrial biogeography. coasts of these realms are bordered by six marine realms, 14 provinces 67 ecoregions. From current literature, a comprehensive list tardigrade fauna from is presented. Data tardigrades were obtained 385 published Records Occurrence (RoO) species, their location, tidal zone, substrates which they reported. Authors’ identifications accepted at face value unless subsequently amended. Thirty genera 82 species subspecies reported Americas; 49 documented margins realm (North America) 48 (South with only 17 occurring in both. We define cosmopolitan distribution for five seven oceans, meets this standard. 39 described new to science, 32 appear restricted hemisphere. Taxa assigned ecoregions adjacent geopolitical units (country, states, provinces, etc.) records. Although all 21 Most sampling has focused near shore substrate (sand, mud, barnacles); some no west both continents little data about presence.
