摘要: Abstract A study conducted after the 26th of December 2004 tsunami in 18 coastal hamlets along south-east coast India reiterates importance mangrove vegetations and location characteristics human inhabitation to protect lives wealth from fury tsunami. The caused death loss these decreased with area vegetation, distance elevation sea. Human should be encouraged more than 1 km shoreline elevated places, behind dense mangroves or other vegetation. Some plant species, suitable grow between sea for protection, are suggested.
