摘要: The role of specific IgG2 antibody in the protection against serious infection with Streptococcus pneumoniae is unclear. We therefore decided to investigate relationship between serum levels and opsonization phagocytosis this microorganism. have measured IgM, IgA IgG subclass for pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide vitro serotype 14 pneumococcus by polymorphs, healthy adults before after immunization Pneumovax II. IgM were predominant anti-pneumococcal antibodies seen, IgG1 being present at low titre. No significant was found. However, both post-immunization sera correlated significantly presence complement (r = 0.57, P 0.029 r 0.59, 0.022 respectively). After heat-inactivation, remaining opsonic activity only 0.61, 0.0006). Whereas supported mediated activation, IgG2-specific high titre may also be able function complement-independent interaction Fc gamma receptors on polymorphs.
