摘要: Proteolytic processing of the cellular and disease-associated form prion protein leads to generation bioactive soluble fragments modifies structure function its cell-bound form. The nature proteases responsible for shedding, α-, β-, γ-cleavage are only partially identified their regulation is largely unknown. Here, we provide an overview increasingly multifaceted picture proteolysis shed light on physiological pathological roles associated with these cleavages.
