摘要: The improved adhesion of an ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber to epoxy from applying polypyrrole (PPy) was investigated using chemical oxidation polymerization. interfacial shear strength the PPy-treated fiber/epoxy enhanced by 280%. Such improvement verified in previous research a pull-out test. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and morphological examination were performed evaluate characteristics motions UHMWPE fiber/PPy/epoxy composites. Two composite materials, fiber/PPy fiber/PPy/epoxy, tested DMA. results show that both αc transitions fibers its composites shift toward higher temperature. In SEM photos fiber/PPy, very clear roughening effect on surface also observed, which contributes much modification interface epoxy. mechanism for PPy-treaded is due intermolecular interaction. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
