摘要: It is important to determine if switching from simultaneous sequential lineups affects response bias (the inclination make an identification a lineup), discriminability ability distinguish between innocent and guilty suspects), or both. Measures of probative value cannot provide such information; receiver operating characteristic analysis can. Recent analyses indicate that both induces more conservative responding makes it difficult suspects. If preferred (i.e., policymakers judge the harm associated with reduction correct identifications exceeded by benefit in false identifications), recent data this result can be achieved without loss using lineup procedure conjunction decision criterion.
