摘要: Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced naturally in plants during normal growth conditions. However, their production is accelerated manifold various abiotic and biotic stresses. Rapid efficient detoxification of ROS vital to avoid any damage at cellular level. This done by a well defined antioxidative system which comprises enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalases peroxidases) low molecular weight compounds such as; praline, betaine, ascorbate glutathione. Among these, glutathione directly involved scavenging ROS. The present article will emphasize on the biosynthesis role oxidative stress.
