Drug use and service utilization among Hispanics in the United States.

摘要: To examine illicit drug use and service utilization patterns of US-born foreign-born Hispanics in the United States. Hispanic respondents 18 years older NESARC were categorized as being Mexican (n = 3,556), Puerto Rican (n = 785), Cuban (n = 346), Central American (n = 513), or South (n = 381) origin. We examined lifetime prevalence substance abuse treatment for immigrants across subgroups. Lifetime was greater among than after controlling age, gender, income, education, urbanicity, parental history problems DSM-IV mood/anxiety disorders. Both immigrant users less likely non-Hispanic white to have utilized any form (US-born AOR = 0.89, AOR = 0.64) more family social services AOR = 1.17, AOR = 1.19). Compared users, used (AOR = 0.81) (AOR = 1.22). Strategies increase engagement retention include increasing access linguistically culturally competent programs that address unmet needs. Further studies examining differences within subgroups are needed.
