摘要: When pragmatics was established as a new subdiscipline in linguistics the 1960s and 1970s, pragmaticists referred to Peirce one of their ancestors. Since then, has remained collective memory pragmatics, is cited now then—but not more. As matter fact, his ideas on natural language communication have hardly been scrutinized, let alone applied, wrongly so. This paper shows that later sketched theory communication, which offers perspective heavily debated Semantics-Pragmatics-Interface. contextualist. But he did refrain from developing formal method analyze meaning sentences uttered.
