摘要: The treatment of wastewater from Sindos industrial area Thessaloniki, Greece (initial pH 7.8) with the Hellenic Natural Zeolite (HENAZE), resulted to clear water 7.3, free odours and improved by 93% in colour, 69% chemical oxygen demand (COD), >97% P2O5 removal, 54% NO3 removal 77% Cr removal. sorption fixation different species micro- meso- macroporous HENAZE can be attributed absorption (mainly ion exchange), adsorption surface precipitation processes. Important role these processes play Broensted acidic Lewis basic sites HEU-type zeolite. In addition gave odourless cohesive zeosludge, suitable for safe deposition since dangerous components into HENAZE, prevents seepage them rain water, protecting thus quality underground waters. used sample, comes Ntrista stream Petrota village (Evros Prefecture, Northeastern Greece) contains 88 wt.% zeolite, 4 mica + clays (92 microporous minerals), 5 feldspars 3 SiO2-phases (quartz cristobalite). mineralogical composition physico-chemical properties, make material numerous environmental, industrial, agricultural aquacultural applications.
