摘要: A porous monocomponent nonwoven web contains a bimodal mass fraction/fiber size mixture of intermingled continuous microfibers and larger fibers the same polymeric composition. There are at least five times as many fibers, histogram fraction vs. fiber exhibits mode greater than 10 μm. The may be made by flowing fiber-forming material through die cavity having orifices smaller to form filaments, attenuating filaments into collecting attenuated web. is especially well suited manufacture self-supporting three dimensional articles such molded cup-shaped respirators pleated air filters.
