摘要: Groundwater in Upper Egypt especially Assiut Governorate is considered the second source of fresh water and used for drinking, agriculture, domestic industrial purposes. Unfortunately, it characterized by high concentrations iron manganese ions. The study aimed at synthesizing zeolite-4A from kaolinite removing excess ions groundwater wells. Therefor, was hydrothermally treated through metakaolinization zeolitization processes to produce crystalline zeolite-4A. chemical composition its morphology were then using X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Then column experiments conducted performance salt-4A as ion exchange investigate their operating parameters regeneration conditions. Thomas Yoon-Nelson models applied predict adsorption capacity time required 50 % breakthrough curves. effects initial 600 1000 mg L−1 Fe2+ Mn2+, feed flow rate 10–30 ml/min, height range 0.4–1.5 cm on behavior system determined. obtained results indicated that synthesized zeolite-A4 can remove permissible limit according standards drinking law.
