摘要: Abstract Vulvovaginal candidiasis is an inflammation localized in the vulvovaginal area. It mostly caused by Candida albicans. Its treatment based on systemic and local administration of antifungal drugs. However, this conventional therapy can fail owing to resistance species noncompliance patients. Amphotericin B-loaded poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanofibers are single-use, antifungal, controlled drug delivery systems, represent alternative therapeutic scheme for candidiasis. Nanofibers were characterized analytical techniques with in vitro study. In vitro in vivo fungicidal activity amphotericin B released from was evaluated using agar diffusion method experimental murine model candidiasis, respectively. Analytical showed that physically mixed polymeric nanofibers. doses 8 consecutive days, providing effective eliminated vaginal fungal burden after 3 days only one application. could be potentially applied as strategy without inducing resistance, yet ensuring patient compliance.
