摘要: It has long been assumed that risk taking is closely associated with criminal behavior. One reason for placing criminals behind bars--aside from punishment and protecting the public--is to prevent them engaging in further risky activities. Limited attention paid whether being inside or outside prison affects offenders' risk-taking behaviors attitudes. We compared attitudes five domains (ethical, financial, health/safety, recreational, social) among 75 incarcerated offenders (i.e., who are currently prison) 45 ex-offenders have just released prison). Ex-offenders reported higher likelihood of behavior, driven largely by a willingness take more risks recreational ethical domains. Benefits attributed as well perception did not differ between ex-offenders, indicating opportunity might underlie behavioral intentions. Our results also indicate activities better predicted expected benefits rather than perception, aside health/safety domain. These highlight importance studying person environment examining number content
