摘要: Abstract: In the first part of this chapter ASTM methods are discussed covering tensile, stiffness, bending and tear testing woven, knitted nonwoven fabrics. Special attention is given to following items, viz., (a) modes deformation in fabrics under tearing loads; (b) Treloar's pioneering research on behavior shear; (c) Trapezoid (wing tip) test that allows measurement strength with no substantial deviation initial direction, (d) Kawabata Evaluation System (KES) covers a series tests especially designed study mechanical small strains, pertinent apparel applications. The second basic mechanics predictive composites reinforced fibrous assemblies, either stiff or soft (elastomer) matrix. these very important area materials science engineering vast range case, addition properties reinforcement, two- three-dimensional, matrix their interphase, engineer must consider critically geometrical parameters, such as reinforcement lay-out angles ply stacking sequence. Three-dimensional assemblies have been shown improve damage tolerance delamination mode failure. This demonstrates requires multidisciplinary approach.
