Solid state effects in photoionization cross sections: Cooper minima in photoemission

摘要: Abstract It is found that the translational symmetry may cause a series of Cooper minima (CM) in solids instead single one known to exist free atom. More than CM for 4d states Pd metal were obtained photoemission experiments and reproduced by atomic solid-state density functional calculations. Similar effects are predicted bands Ag, 5d Au, 5f U metals. One superimpose 5d→5f Fano resonance Uranium metal.
