摘要: Background Staff in intellectual disability services canexperience high levels of violence, which may lead toburnout. burnout result poorer quality ser-vices. Previous research has suggested that factors suchas fear self-efficacy and staff support moder-ate the impact violence on burnout.Aims The explores relationship between lev-els with self-efficacy, staffsupport burnout.Method A survey exploring ofviolence, burnout, wascompleted by 44 care a medium-secure settingwith incidence 38 incommunity settings low violence.Results Medium-secure reported significantly lowerfear higher compared withcommunity staff. Increased corre-lated increased perceived exposure to physicalviolence reduced support. Self-efficacy demon-strated significant moderator levelsof burnout. Higher threats violencesignificantly correlated lower violence.Conclusion Services are organized manage vio-lence be better placed experiencingviolence. Fear decrease exposureto perhaps due self-efficacy.
