Promoting Social Change through Service-Learning in the Curriculum

摘要: Service-learning is a high-impact pedagogical strategy embraced by higher education institutions. Direct service based on charity paradigm tends to be the norm, while little attention paid social change-oriented service. This article offers suggestions for incorporating justice into courses designed promote change through service-learning. The delineates characteristics of education, discusses ways incorporate and service-learning components appropriate courses, provides blueprint constructing syllabus.
