摘要: Since the adoption of Annex VI International Convention on Prevention Pollution from Ships, 1973/78, Maritime Organization has gradually expanded scope ship emission regulation to include VOCs, SOx, NOx, particulate matter and, more recently, greenhouse gas emissions. This regulatory effort not been integrated and displays some inconsistency even fragmentation, resulting in different levels environment protection for regions potential conflicts between standards. The use carriage heavy sulphur fuel oil may lead increase clean thereby produce CO2 Designation control areas under benefitted public health Baltic, North Sea American waters, but Arctic waters coastal communities adjacent international trade routes elsewhere. chapter discusses prospects pitfalls emissions argues development an approach consistent with IMO’s own principles enhancement air standards waters.
