摘要: The relative strength of positive and negative spillovers urban development is a long-standing contested issue in regional economics, the search for spread backwash effects core economies goes back at least 50 years. Using data from IMPLAN Bureau Economic Analysis to develop multiregional input–output models, we developed estimates core–periphery economic interdependence (sales purchases goods services commuting workers between periphery) Portland, Oregon, region 1982 2006. We explored whether changing flows sales purchases, 2006 suggested dominance or effects. found increased periphery core, decreased transactions, smaller core-to-periphery periphery-to-core both services. Our findings do not point clear Results showing multipliers/spillovers suggest that related trade weakened are consistent with enhanced labor markets.
