摘要: Abstract Introduction We present a retrospective study of 30 consecutive cases bimaxillary orthognathic surgery with biodegradable self-reinforced poly- l / d L-lactide plates and tacks, for the same indication Angle class III malocclusion. reported skeletal stability morbidity at 1 year after surgery. Patients methods All patients underwent procedure. used L lactic acid copolymer. Stabilization Lefort I osteotomy was achieved by four L-shaped. Sagittal split osteotomies were fixed two straight-plates. Lateral cephalograms taken before (T0), soon (T1) more than (T2). Eight standard landmarks angular measurements into account. differences angles measured T1 T2. The regular clinical follow-up scheduled minimum period year. Results mean advanced maxillary 3.33 mm mandibular setback 6.13 mm. relapse 2.2 mm (non-significant). Horizontal maxilla variation 0.8 mm A-point. Vertical depends on movements: impaction is better as an isolated advancement or associated pull-down movement. found six inflammatory reactions them need removal plates. Conclusion Bimaxillary procedure bioresorbable osteosynthesis reliable reproducible method. malocclusions could be entirely successfully managed osteosynthesis. suites are comparable to titanium
