摘要: New technology has brought with it new tools for learning, and research shown that the educational potential of video games resonates scholars, teachers, students alike. In Augmented Learning, Eric Klopfer describes largely untapped mobile learning games--games played on such handheld devices as cell phones, Game Boys, Sony PSPs--to make a substantial impact learning. Examining from both gaming perspectives, argues strengths platform--its portability, context sensitivity, connectivity, ubiquity--make ideal in elementary, secondary, university, lifelong education. begins by exploring past present education, technology, "edutainment," games, then offers series case studies have been developed implemented recent years. These games--either participatory (which require interaction other players) or augmented reality augment real world virtual information)--can be produced at lower cost than PC full-size console games. They use social dynamics real-world contexts to enhance game play, can integrated into natural flow instruction more easily their big-screen counterparts, create compelling engaging environments learners. are especially well-suited helping learners every level develop twenty-first century skills--including ability tackle complex problems acquire information "just-in-time" fashion. All this, argues, puts unique powerful position within technology.
