摘要: In this paper, we present a new paradigm for multimedia document authoring to support large-scaled industrial technical documentation. An industrial-strength environment requires high degree of automation producing large amount high-quality documentation efficiently and effectively, provides consistent user interface facilitate viewing browsing contents. Product includes information in all media aspects product during the life cycle product. documents are highly cross-referenced often shared by family related models. Previous paradigms have their limitations supporting such complex required today‘s sophisticated products. Our approach is based on an authoring-in-the-large adopting formal configuration specifications automatically assembling machine-specific manuals from component documents, hyperlink systematically creating hyperlinks documents. Integrated media-specific viewers provided viewing, navigation hyperlinked contents manner various product-related applications as operation, maintenance training platforms UNIX, PC/Windows, laptops hand-held devices locally over network.
