摘要: Mass loading and chemical composition of atmospheric aerosols over the Arabian Sea during pre-monsoon months April May have been studied as a part Integrated Campaign for Aerosols, gases Radiation Budget (ICARB). These investigations show large spatial variabilities in total aerosol mass well that individual species. The is found to vary between 3.5 69.2 μg m−3, with higher loadings near eastern northern parts Sea, which decreases steadily reach its minimum value mid Sea. decrease from coast India towards west estimated linear gradient 1.53 m−3/° longitude an e−1 scale distance ∼2300 km. SO42−, Cl− Na+ are be major ionic species present. Apart these, other dominating watersoluble components NO3− (17%) Ca2+ (6%). Over marine environment non-sea-salt component dominates accounting ∼76% mass. variations various ions examined light prevailing meteorological conditions airmass back trajectories.
