摘要: Mice of the Bar Harbor 129 Re dydy strain suffer from a progressive degeneration skeletal muscles similar in pathological characteristics to that human Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Previously nervous system these animals has been described as being without abnormality. This report details striking abnormalities dorsal and ventral roots proximal parts sciatic nerves animals. The consist non-myelinated axons up 6 μ diameter, surrounding Schwann cell cytoplasm, collected into extensive areas between few relatively normal myelinated axons. These are surrounded by sheets cells, which show morphological counterparts active metabolism, some attempted myelination equally older younger animals, though appearance is very foetal developing nerve. Minor evidence axonal present. The changes interpreted indicating developmental abnormality perhaps result impaired mitotic division cells. They offer an experimental model for investigation number problems nerve physiology. Preliminary studies peripheral cases dystrophy dystrophic hamsters have not revealed The change therefore likely be phenomenon confined mouse, one unrelated coexisting muscle degeneration.
