摘要: The 6 minutes walk test (6MWT) is a useful assessment instrument for the exercise capacity of elderly persons. impact health status on 6MWT-distance in elderly, however, remains unclear, reducing its value clinical settings. objective this study was to investigate what extent community dwelling determined by conditions. One hundred and fifty-six people (53 male, 103 female) were assessed performed 6MWT. After evaluation, electrocardiography laboratory examination participants categorized into stratified six-level classification system according their status, going from A (completely healthy) D (signs active disease at moment examination). mean 603 m (SD = 178). decreased significantly with increasing age (ANOVA p 0.0001) worsening (ANCOVA, corrected < 0.001). multiple linear regression model gender as independent variables explained 31% variability. Anthropometrical measures (stature, weight BMI) did not improve prediction model. significant relationship between stature only present category healthy). Significant differences are observed community-dwelling proposed categorizing able distinguish persons lower physical can be when advising trainers seniors.
