摘要: Purpose High calorie intake leads to obesity, a global socio-economic and health problem, reaching epidemic proportion in children adolescents. Saturated monounsaturated fatty acids from animal (lard) fat are major components of the western-pattern diet its regular consumption risk factor for cardiovascular disease. However, no clear evidence exists whether rich saturated (SFAs) (MUFAs) has detrimental effects on cardiac structure energetics primarily due excessive calories. We, therefore, sought determine impact high calories versus content mitochondrial energetics. Methods Six-week-old C57BL/6J mice were fed with calorie, lard fat-based (60% fat, HFD), high-calorie low (10% LFD), lower-calorie (standard chow, 12% SCD) 10 weeks. Results The HFD- LFD-fed had higher body weight, ventricular mass thickness posterior septal wall increased cardiomyocytes diameter compared SCD-fed mice. These changes associated reduction oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) complexes I III activity without significant differences between animals. The HFD-fed animals level malondialdehyde (MDA) than LFD mice. Conclusions We assume that morphology selective OXPHOS observed might be related additional effect stress.
