摘要: Forests provide a variety of ecosystem goods and services to society. One these services, avalanche protection, has the typical characteristics public good: non-excludability non-rivalry. A monetary valuation this service would be helpful efficient effective protection local population. We present results case study from Swiss Alps, where we determined willingness pay for based on choice experiment combined with virtual reality visualizations. Furthermore, compare costs alternative technical measures natural hazard mitigation as well risk-based evaluation. conclude that forests is about same range collective risk related 300-years event within similar per-household measures. However, substantially higher than silvicultural maintain forest.
