Exploring patients’ and healthcare professionals’ experiences of patient-witnessed resuscitation: A qualitative study protocol

摘要: Aim The aim of this study was to explore the experiences patients and healthcare professionals regarding witnessing resuscitation on another patient in hospital clinical wards. Design Phenomenological qualitative study. Methods Participants will be recruited from nine wards a university England. Data collection include two in-depth interviews with who witnessed resuscitation: first interview one week after second month. Individual focus group also conducted. transcribed, managed NVivo 11 analysed using phenomenological analysis. National Health Service, Research Authority University Ethics Committee approved (May 2018). is funded by Resuscitation Council UK (December 2017) conducted between May 2018-March 2019. Conclusion While major topic interest nursing, specific research impact witness fellow limited. This use methodology inform evidence base problem limited understanding. findings contribute framework identifying barriers enablers towards greater support hospital. new acquired knowledge beneficial improvement future nursing care. Impact gained can development implementation guidelines policies optimize quality care provided.
