摘要: This essay presents a brief review and evaluation of some guiding concepts during the past century inquiry into localization brain functions. Mapping methods are described discussed as one useful set approaches to defining functional localization. Each neurobiological discipline: neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurochemistry neuropsychology, neuroethology, clinical neurology, biophysics bioengineering, all use map-making strategies in their search for valid spatial temporal definitions phenomena field interest. Particular emphasis is given neurophysiological mapping procedures. How these procedures have evolved become important tools testing hypotheses about neuroelectric, behavioral psychological functions specific neuroanatomical structures discussed. The continued importance emphasized basic descriptive sampling neural mechanisms adaptive operations.
