摘要: A method of producing parts from powdered metal comprising the steps providing a metallurgic powder iron, 0-1.5 weight percent silicon, 0.4-0.9 carbon, 0.5-4.5 nickel, 0.5-1.0 molybdenum, 0-0.5 manganese, and copper, percentages calculated based on total powder. Next, is compressed at pressure 25 to 65 tsi provide green compact with density if 6.4 g/cc 7.4 g/cc. The high temperature sintered 2100° F. 2400° Then, selectively densified greater than 7.6 sinter hardened obtain mainly Martensite microstructure. can be directly selective densification not necessary. Material made by this also disclosed.
