摘要: The paper attempts to explain why single factor explanations of the poverty nations are usually found be unsatisfactory. Poor countries outside Africa, for instance, have an income per head which stands at about one third rich countries' head. Yet each three items Solow model, namely human capital, physical capital (appropriated weighted) and total productivity, equal 70% corresponding levels countries. But power is 35%! Multiplying small or relatively benign handicaps can yield dramatic effects on a country's income. then moves items. It argues that Lucas paradox scarce readily solved, once market prices rather than PPP used assess return mobility, same ground it calculations bias downwards TFP poor lower in because fact returns non concave so marginal propensity turn additional year life expectancy into higher education rich. message hope "transpiration" strategies la Singapore may work elsewhere.
