摘要: The identification of prostate transmembrane protein androgen induced 1 (PMEPA1), an responsive gene, came initially from the studies regulatory gene networks in cancer. It was soon followed by documentation expression and functional analysis androgen-induced (TMEPAI)/PMEPA1 other solid tumors including renal, colon, breast, lung, ovarian cancers. Further elucidation PMEPA1 sequence revealed presence five isoforms with distinct extracellular domains (isoforms a, b, c, d, e). Notably, predicted amino acid sequences show differences at N-termini, a conserved membrane spanning cytoplasmic domains. serves as essential regulator multiple signaling pathways TGF-β tumors. Structure-function indicate that specific motifs present domain (PY, SIM, SH3, WW binding domains) are utilized to mediate isoform-specific functions through interactions proteins. understanding "division labor" paradigm exhibited further expands our knowledge gene's tumorigenesis. In this review, we aim summarize most recent advances their associations cancer progression, highlighting potentials biomarker therapeutic target
