摘要: Abstract Objective Bioresorbable osteofixation devices are being increasingly used in orthognathic surgery and cases of trauma to avoid problems associated with conventional metal devices. The aim this clinical study was assess the reliability efficacy bioresorbable self-reinforced poly-L/DL-lactide (SR-P(L/DL)LA 70/30) plates screws fixation mandibular fractures adults. Study design Ten patients (20 49 years old) isolated anterior parasymphyseal were treated by means open reduction internal using SR-P(L/DL)LA 70/30 screws. Results During minimum 6 months follow-up, no encountered except for 1 case where a plate became exposed intraorally infected. This required debridement later excision part plate. Despite setback fractured bone healed well. Conclusions reliable Proper soft tissue coverage should be ensured exposure. Should implant exposure occur, it might necessary excise after fracture healing (6-8 weeks postoperatively).
