History Education and National Identity in Northern Ireland.

摘要: This article reports findings from two studies of students’ perceptions identity and national history in Northern Ireland. These indicate that students identify with a wide range historical topics they consider school the most important influence on their understanding history. Findings further indicate, however, identifications narrow during Key Stage 3 become increasingly focused Protestant/Unionist or Catholic/Nationalist heritage. The considers implications these for education region.
