摘要: The development and persistence of personality in nature are counterintuitivebecause,in heterogeneous environ- ments, is expected to limit the degree behav- ioural flexibility. Recent work has shown that behavioural flexibility might be linked, but their interaction not well understood could elucidated by studying a socially flexible species. Using well-established tests, we measured traits activity, boldness, explora- tion aggressiveness free-living striped mice (Rhabdomys pumilio) South Africa. Specifically, tested whether changes when individuals change reproductive tactic, either from group-living philopatrics solitary-living females roaming males or non- breeding breeders. Our results showed have personalities: Individuals behaved consis- tently for all both over time contexts (breeding non-breeding season). While most remained consistent among tactics, they did predict which tactic an individual would adopt next, suggesting environmental conditions rather than influence switching. Additionally, found important differences consistency iours between females, indicating sexual selection play prominent role mainte- nance this study demonstrates some can stable entire life- even species does constrain social
