摘要: The National Ignition Campaign (NIC) uses non-igniting “tritium hydrogen deuterium (THD)” capsules to study and optimize the hydrodynamic assembly of fuel without burn. These are designed simultaneously reduce DT neutron yield maintain similarity with ignition capsule. We will discuss nominal THD performance associated experimental observables. show results large ensembles numerical simulations implosions their simulated diagnostic outputs. cover a broad range both off-nominal implosions. focus on development an implosion metric called threshold factor (ITFX). relationship between ITFX other integrated metrics, including (ITF), generalized Lawson criterion (GLC), hot spot pressure (HSP). then consider recent NIC campaign. that we can observe key quantities for producing measured inferring metrics. trends in data, improvement ITFX, briefly upcoming tuning campaign aimed at taking next steps path NIF.
