摘要: The mitochondrial respiratory chain is a powerful source of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which considered as the pathogenic agent many diseases and aging. We have investigated role complex I in superoxide radical production found by combined use specific inhibitors that one-electron donor to redox center located prior sites where three different types Coenzyme Q (CoQ) competitors bind, be identified with an Fe-S cluster, most probably N2, or possibly ubisemiquinone intermediate insensitive all above inhibitors. Short-chain analogs enhance formation, presumably mediating electron transfer from N2 oxygen. clinically used CoQ analog, idebenone, particularly effective, raising doubts on its safety drug. Cells counteract oxidative stress antioxidants. only lipophilic antioxidant biosynthesized. Exogenous CoQ, however, protects cells conversion into reduced form cellular reductases. plasma membrane oxidoreductase DT-diaphorase are two such systems, likewise, they overexpressed under conditions.
