Dynamics of Culture Frames in International News Coverage: A Semantic Network Analysis

摘要: A semantic network analysis was conducted to investigate how national political culture shapes news frames for international coverage. Specifically, the Associated Press framed Arab Spring as a process of pursuing democracy, core value American culture, whereas Xinhua News Agency it crisis that challenged authority and related stability, central concerns Chinese culture. The results coevolution cultural symbols indicate competition between two different happened with purpose negotiating meaning on global stage.
