摘要: Polysaccharides display most of the properties needed for applications in catalysis, adsorption or remediation. Requisites common to these are appropriate surface functions ensure substrate–material interactions, accessibility functional groups, and proper shaping easy manipulation. Natural polysaccharides well known as supports enzymatic catalysts gelling agents aqueous phase, due high level dispersion hydrocolloids. However, they suffer from diffusional limitations dry state, low area dried materials generally used, xerogels lyophilized solids. This chapter deals with methods prepare which retain polymer hydrogel, namely polysaccharide aerogels. The whose described here stable organic solvents present numerous diverse functionalities (like hydroxy, carboxy, amino groups). Shaping drying provide a new opportunity obtain one less energy-intensive sources biomass. Their application catalysis could open substantial markets products seaweed harvesting coproducts seafood industry.
