摘要: Public perception of nanotechnology may influence the realization technological advances. Laypeople's (N = 375) and experts' 46) 20 different applications three nonnanotechnology were examined. The psychometric paradigm was utilized described in short scenarios. Results showed that laypeople experts assessed asbestos as much more risky than applications. Analyses aggregated data suggested perceived dreadfulness trust governmental agencies are important factors determining risks. Similar results observed for laypeople, but latter greater risks former. individual trust, benefits, general attitudes toward technology influenced risk laypeople. In expert sample, confidence an predictor associated with suggest public concerns about would diminish if measures taken to enhance laypeople's agencies.
