摘要: Early-onset group B streptococcal sepsis frequently produces shock in preterm infants, a condition also felt to be contributory the development of periventricular leukomalacia. During 2-year study period, 628 infants who were admitted neonatal intensive care unit underwent serial sonographic brain scanning; leukomalacia was diagnosed eight (1.2%). The four (100%) survived with septic developed leukomalacia, whereas none survivors (0%) caused by other organisms and three 27 (11%) not infection Because frequency this lesion, it is suggested that all should have sonography screening for detection Early will assure cure but may facilitate prognostication, follow-up, earlier institution rehabilitative therapy produce better outcome.
