South African renewable energy investment barriers: An investor perspective

摘要: As recently as the year 2010, renewable energy contributed less than 1% of all sources in South Africa. Possible reasons include lack private sector investment Renewable Energy technologies. By way a structured interview methodology, this paper explores why investors are reluctant to invest renewables. The responses point political, economic, social and technological barriers limiting energy. Other that were identified poverty, low levels education, limited readiness access electricity grid. Some these specific African context. concludes closer relationship between government is required stimulate innovation sector.
