摘要: [1] An inverse problem is here studied to infer paleoflow conditions from turbidites (i.e., turbidity current deposits). Such a constrained outcrop data the Laga Formation (Lower Messianian; central Apennines, Italy). Analytical solutions of layer-averaged governing equations for net depositional currents flowing over flat bottom are found. These allow recovering velocity, thickness, and sediment concentration at start deposition by using analytic solution Exner equation net-depositional currents. The describes along-current profile sedimentary bed deposited single event. For lobe deposits we obtain values ∼1.5 m/s velocities, 50–100 m thicknesses, ∼0.5% volume concentrations. duration time these flows also computed gives rather short span varying 1 15 h. All in good agreement with those reported literature.
